The actress, 46, posted a funny

on Instagram on Sunday, Nov. 16, of herself and herSong Sung Bluecostar Hugh Jackman on their way to the Governors Awards. The actress was lying across Jackman’s lap in an effort not to crease her dress for the ceremony in the snap.

“Governors Awards 🦋 @theacademy Thanks to Hugh, silk got no wrinkles,” Hudson captioned the post. “🙏😅 Wonderful night ✨.”

Hudson wore a light green Valentino silk gown on the evening, while Jackman, 57, looked smart in a black-and-white suit.

Hudson’s gown featured embellished, draped cut-out sleeves and a plunging back. She accessorized her look with a pair of drop earrings and had her hair styled in a wavy bob with smoky eye makeup.

Hudson and Jackman appear together in the Oscar-slated new musical dramaSong SungBlueabout real-life Milwaukee-area couple Claire and Mike Sardina, who formed the Neil Diamond tribute band Lightning & Thunder.

Hudson’s appearance at the Governors Awards comes after she attended the 2025 AFI Fest premiere of the film with her fiancé, Danny Fujikawaat the end of last month. And she showcased her fail-safe method of keeping her gown wrinkle-free on that evening, too!

Earlier this month, the actress turned singer exclusively opened up to PEOPLE aboutSong Sung Blue— which is based on the 2008 documentary of the same name.

Hudson said the movie is the culmination of “everything” she’s worked towards in her career while speaking to PEOPLE at the L.A. premiere.

“(…) All I ever wanted to do was do musicals. This obviously isn’t (a musical), but (…) this movie in particular (is) everything that I’ve studied throughout my life or my career. I get to do (it all) in one film, and that doesn’t happen very often,” she said.

She added, “I’m just so happy that (writer and director) Craig Brewer — that he wanted me to do it.”
