Peloton Recalls Than 830,000 Bikes Nationwide For Injury Risk

than 830,000 Peloton bikes have been recalled due to a fall and injury risk, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced Thursday.

Peloton recalled certain Peloton Original Series Bike+ units after the fitness company received three reports of the seat post breaking and detaching from the bike during use. Two people reported injuries from a fall.

Approximately 833,000 bikes were recalled for posing a fall and injury hazard to users.

The recall affects Peloton Original Series Bike + units with the model number “PL02” and serial numbers beginning with the letter “T.” (You can find the bike’s serial number inside the front fork, behind the front fork, or behind the flywheel.)

CPSC

The bikes measure 4 feet long by 2 feet wide, and have an adjustable seat and handlebar.

Recalled bikes were sold between January 2020 and April 2025 at Peloton and Dick’s Sporting Goods stores nationwide, and online at onepeloton.com, ebay.com, Amazon.com, and Dickssportinggoods.com. They retailed for about $2,495.

Anyone who owns a recalled Peloton bike should stop using it immediately and contact Peloton for a free repair.

The company said it’s also offering consumers a free seat post that can be self-installed.
