Jonathan Scott Celebrates Fiancée Zooey Deschanel’s 46th Birthday Photos

Zooey Deschanel is getting some birthday love from fiancé Jonathan Scott.

The actress celebrated her 46th birthday on Saturday, Jan. 17, and theProperty Brothersstar, 47, marked the occasion with a sweet Instagram post.

Sharing three photos of them cozying up and one solo shot of Deschanel, Scott began the caption of his post, “Happy birthday, Zooey ❤️.”

“You’re magic! ❤️,” he concluded his birthday tribute.

Scott and Deschanel first met while filming an episode ofCarpool Karaokein 2019. The HGTV star then proposed to theNew Girlalum in August 2023 during a family trip to Scotland.

Deschanel’s two children, Elsie and Charlieeven played a part in the special moment. (She shares her daughter, 10, and son, 8, with ex-husband Jacob Pechenik.)

Scott told PEOPLE in 2023, “The kids pulled a banner out that said, ‘Zooey, will you marry me?‘ ”

Speaking with PEOPLE in December, Deschanel said she and her fiancé are “not in a rush” to walk down the aisle anytime soon and wedding planning is “ exploratory.”

“We’re not in a rush because we’ve been together so long, so it’s not like we’re like, ‘We gotta get married.’ I’d rather find the right place, the right place and situation, so that it’s really special and fun,” she explained.

Deschanel reiterated those thoughts during the Dec. 4 premiere of her new movieMerv.“The bar is high for throwing a party. So it has to be really good. So that’s why its taking a long time,” she said.
